Autopilot tier gating
Autopilot is Growth and Studio only. Starter accounts see the same recommendations from the same agents with the same evidence - but Managed Autopilot actions are locked and links to upgrade. You can always copy the recommended action and ship it manually using the step-by-step playbook on the recommendation detail page.
This tier gate is enforced server-side (not just UI). If you upgrade mid-billing-cycle the unlock is immediate and your existing queue of recommendations becomes Autopilot-eligible.
Billing
Billing runs through Stripe. You’ll find your invoices, billing portal, and active subscription details in Settings → Billing. Common operations:
- Upgrade - prorated immediately. Pay only the difference for the rest of the cycle.
- Downgrade - takes effect at the end of the current cycle. We keep all your data; you just lose the higher-tier capabilities (Autopilot, extra apps, etc.) at the next renewal.
- Switch to annual - applies at the next renewal, locking in the lower per-month price.
- Cancel- instant. Access continues until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, then the workspace flips to read-only.
Read-only mode
If a subscription lapses or you cancel, your workspace goes into read-only mode: existing data stays, you can read briefs, browse the library, and export. Agents stop running and Autopilot pauses. Resume billing within 60 days and everything picks up exactly where it left off; after 60 days we delete agent state to free resources (your raw data is kept for 90 days).
Refunds
Email billing@appapex.io within 14 days of a charge for any reason and we’ll refund it. No questions, no forms.
